a second cable has failed on tower 4. I just spoke to Francisco and got a <br>
slight bit of further news, but overall the situation is critical. I suppose we <br>
are all like the family outside the intensive care unit.<br>
<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"></span>So I am reaching out to a few friends and colleagues who have been <br>
close to the Observatory and its community over the years, expecting that <br>
you are probably feeling some of the same feelings as I am at this moment.<br>
I am sure I have left out many many people, so please feel free to share the <br>
message widely as you think of others.<br>
