	Please save the date—
		Lecture/Discussion: Thurs., 23rd September, 12 noon ET
		Title:  NGAT: The Next Generation Arecibo Telescope
		Speaker:  Dr. Anish Roshi, AO Radio Astronomy Head
		Abstract:  The AO staff and members of the user community have proposed 
			a new telescope concept, referred to as the “Next Generation Arecibo 
			Telescope” (NGAT).  The talk will outline the case for the NGAT and 
			discuss some of its novel science applications, its synergy with other 
			upcoming projects, and its technical challenges.  (Please see the fuller 
			abstract below.)
	Watch for the zoom link which will be sent 24-48 hours prior to the event

	This event is the third in a series of ASAP “lunchtime” talks/discussions exploring 
issues and proposals pertinent to Arecibo’s future.  Some of the early talks will present 
material developed by working groups in the recent NSF Workshop on Arecibo’s Future
—but now in more detail and with greater opportunities for questions and discussion.
