Dear ASAP member,

December 1st is the second anniversary of the Arecibo telescope collapse. We mark this occasion with an all member ASAP meeting to react to the recent NSF announcement and ASAP’s activities to preserve on-going science at the site. The event will take place virtually at 12-1pm EST with time available for informal chats after 1pm EST. 
We will provide a virtual meeting link later this week. Stay tuned!

12:05-12:15     Introduction to the breakout group discussion topics, what has the Board done already and the strategies we're pursuing for the near and beyond. 		
-- Congress: Lobbying Congress for NSF oversight hearings and other pressure 
-- NSF: What is the basis for the decision not to put science first, the arguments for reconsideration (direct communication / FOIA request)
-- Media and public: How to make our case so the above will respond
-- Ideas for the Arecibo Center for STEM Education and Research (ACSER): Making the best of it for science and education
